A message from our Superintendent, Dr. Paul Cruz. Please take the time to go out and vote.
In Austin ISD, we are reinventing the urban school experience. As part of that reinvention, the Austin ISD 2017 Bond aims to provide 21st-century learning spaces for all our students and staff, without a tax rate increase.
Every school is expected to benefit, and every bond dollar stays local.
With the start of early voting, I wanted to take this opportunity to be sure you have the most complete information available. The bond proposal includes districtwide projects such as technology and transportation upgrades, as well as school-specific projects at some campuses that would address facility deficiencies.
Early voting ends Friday, Nov. 3, and Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 7. Travis County residents may vote at any polling location in Travis County during early voting and on Election Day. Voting locations are marked with "Vote Here" signs.
An overview of proposed improvements at every campus is available at AISDFuture.com.
To ensure everyone is informed when they make a decision at the ballot box, we've hosted a series of open houses for the community. The final open house was this past Saturday at the Carruth Administration Center. If you weren't able to make it, you can watch the presentation by Chief Financial Officer Nicole Conley Johnson.

Sincerely,
Paul Cruz, Ph.D.
