Field Trip: Austin Public Library 2025

Our 6th grade students had an amazing field trip to the Austin Public Library, where learning and exploration went hand in hand. During the visit, students toured the library, explored different sections, and had time to browse and check out books that sparked their interests.

In addition to enjoying the library space, students learned about the many free resources available to all AISD students, including access to books, digital materials, research tools, and learning supports that can be used both at school and at home. This experience helped students see the library as a valuable community resource and encouraged them to take advantage of everything it has to offer.

We are proud of our 6th graders for representing Gus Garcia YMLA with curiosity, responsibility, and respect. Field trips like this help build a love of reading while teaching students how to use community resources that support lifelong learning.
