Our students recently had the incredible opportunity to experience a live theatrical performance of the award-winning novel The Outsiders! This immersive field trip allowed our young men to see the story come to life on stage, deepening their understanding of the themes, characters, and emotions from this classic work of literature.

The students were captivated by the performance, which brought the struggles, friendships, and triumphs of Ponyboy, Johnny, and the rest of the gang vividly to life. Many students shared how seeing the story acted out helped them connect with the characters on a more personal level and sparked thoughtful discussions back in the classroom.

Experiences like this are an essential part of our mission at Gus Garcia YMLA—to enrich learning beyond the classroom and inspire a lifelong love of literature and the arts. We are proud of our students for their respectful behavior and engagement during this cultural outing.
