We are excited to announce that Gus Garcia YMLA will serve as the host site for this year’s AISD Middle School PALS Training, taking place on January 22. This special event will bring together PALS students from middle schools across the district for a day dedicated to leadership development, relationship-building, and service learning.
Throughout the training, students will participate in team-building activities, skill-building workshops, and discussions designed to help them become effective mentors on their own campuses. They will learn strategies for connecting with younger students, modeling positive behavior, and supporting a welcoming and inclusive school culture.
We are proud that YMLA was selected to host this districtwide event—a reflection of the strong leadership and character our PALS program demonstrates. Our students will have the opportunity to learn alongside peers from other campuses while also showcasing the values, hospitality, and professionalism that define our school community.
A big thank-you goes out in advance to Stacia Bowley, our district PALS coordinator, participating campuses, and YMLA staff members who are helping make this event possible. We look forward to welcoming everyone on January 22 and supporting the next generation of AISD student leaders.
