Garcia Shines at JR VASE Regional Art Competition
Our campus is celebrating an incredible achievement from this year’s JR VASE Regional Art Competition—and the results are nothing short of outstanding!
All five of our talented young men earned GOLD MEDALS, meaning each of them received a perfect score of 4 out of 4 on their artwork. This is a remarkable accomplishment and a testament to their creativity, skill, and dedication.
This year’s competition was highly competitive, with 713 students participating. Students were divided into three divisions based on their years of experience in art, making the judging process both rigorous and fair. From each division, only 17 students were selected for a prestigious top honor—meaning just 51 out of 713 students earned this elite recognition.
And here’s where it gets even more exciting…
Garcia brought home TWO PLATINUM MEDALS! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Even more impressive—this is the first time in Gus Garcia Young Men's Leadership Academy history that any student from our campus has earned a Platinum Medal! This milestone makes the achievement even more meaningful and marks a historic moment for our school.
This places our students among the very best artists in the entire competition. Earning a Platinum Medal is an extraordinary accomplishment and highlights the exceptional talent within our program. We are incredibly proud of these artists for representing our school with excellence and for showing what hard work and passion can achieve.
Congratulations to our amazing student artists—what an unforgettable day! 🎉
