UT Neighborhood Longhorns: Generosity in Action

There’s nothing like a little Sunday morning shopping—especially when it comes with a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Thanks to the Neighborhood Longhorns Program and former UT basketball star DJ Augustin, three of our Gus Garcia YMLA students—Keandre, Kenneth, and Manuel—enjoyed an unforgettable outing this weekend.

The boys had an amazing time picking out items, connecting with program leaders, and getting to experience the generosity and spirit of a true Longhorn legend. DJ Augustin’s continued commitment to giving back made the morning extra special, creating memories our students will carry with them for years.

We are incredibly grateful to the Neighborhood Longhorns Program for making events like this possible and for the ongoing support they provide to our students. And a huge thank-you to DJ Augustin for inspiring our young men and showing them what community, leadership, and kindness look like in action.

Keandre, Kenneth, and Manuel had a blast—and we are so proud to see our students representing YMLA with excitement and gratitude.
